With the rain holding off and the feathers staying dry the Hawks got off to good start with a convincing 27-7 win against the Owls.

With Gill and Paul Costin on opposite sides, Gill was certainly chirpy.

Last years champions came down to earth with a bump losing 23-9 to the Gulls.

The Kestrals, proving too strong on the night, overcame the Robins 22-9.

Showing their strength over the last five ends the Ospreys clinched the game against the Swifts 19-11.

The last fixture of the evening over on rink one saw the Ravens sent packing back to the tower, dropping nine shots on the last three ends, to lose 24-17.

A good evening ended in the clubhouse with Lynne & Allen Holman doing the important job, serving everyone with refreshments from the bar.

Next Avain league fixture 4th May. If you are not playing why not come along and support your team.
